Biography

Dr. Abdulrahim Otori Yusuf is a Lecturer in the Department of Actuarial Science and Insurance at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Nigeria. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Finance option) from ABU (2023), alongside an M.Sc. (2018) and B.Sc. in Business Administration with specialization in Actuarial Science (2011) from the same institution.
Dr. Yusuf has been actively involved in teaching, research, and academic administration since joining ABU in 2019. His teaching portfolio spans undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Business Statistics, Quantitative Techniques, Risk Management, Insurance Economics, and Actuarial Science. He also serves as an e-tutor with the university’s Distance Learning Centre and contributes to departmental administration as a level coordinator, timetable coordinator and welfare officer.
His research interests lie in behavioral finance, investment decision-making, risk management, and financial literacy. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, with notable contributions on investor behavior, self-control in financial decisions, and organizational performance. Dr. Yusuf has also presented papers at both national and international conferences, reflecting his growing influence in actuarial science and finance research.
Before his academic career, he gained professional experience as an audit officer and educator, which informs his practical approach to teaching and research. He is proficient in English and Hausa and remains committed to advancing knowledge, mentoring students, and contributing to the development of the financial and insurance sectors in Nigeria
